"Pete MacLeod is one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever worked with. I say that without any reservations whatsoever. His new record is stunning. He’s as good as a singer as Liam or Ashcroft. An absolute top shelf vocalist.

The songwriting and matching of Youth as producer and Peter as artist is musical alchemy – long live the magic of music. These songs show Pete’s vocal range, which is phenomenal.

The new album is one of the best records I’ve ever been involved with".

Pete MacLeod

Pete MacLeod is a Scottish singer/songwriter with a knack for thoughtful, melodic music. Raised in the small mining town of Coatbridge, Scotland, MacLeod was heavily influenced by the music of Buddy Holly, The Beatles, John Lennon and The Rolling Stones. Throughout the 2000's, he independently released a string of singles, EP's and albums on his own record label. He spent several years living in California before returning to Scotland to release the EP "Glasgow Keeps Me Real, California Let's Me Heal" in early 2013. The EP was well-received and the song 'Rolling Stone' was chosen as the single of the month on BBC Radio Scotland. MacLeod's music soon caught the attention of Creation Records founder Alan McGee, who signed the artist to his newly launched 359 Music label. In late 2013, MacLeod released the Rolling Stone LP, his debut for 359. 2015 MacLeod started working on his follow up LP with acclaimed producer YOUTH, (The Verve, Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, Crowded House). James McCartney, Son of The Beatles Paul McCartney, plays guitar on the album, as does The Verve and Gorillaz guitarist Simon Tong. The new LP titled Crestfallen was released in 2016 on MacLeod's own Stepping Stone Music label, distributed by London based label Cherry Red Records. Janice Long (BBC Radio 2) championed the album playing the first single 'Crestfallen' a record 14 times on her show. A first for any artist on Janice's show. Pete also performed an acoustic session for BBC Radio Scotland for the Janice Forsyth show. Following the release of Pete's 2nd album MacLeod signed a publishing deal with Wardlaw Music. MacLeod then went on to promote the album by opening, touring and supporting legendary Manchester act The Happy Mondays. As well as supporting The Happy Mondays MacLeod has also opened, toured and supported Jesus And Mary Chain, Cast, Ocean Colour Scene, Shed Seven, Midge Ure, Amy Macdonald and The Strypes. Pete MacLeod has also been joined on stage for separate tours with musicians and guitarists such as Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller, The Specials), Bonehead (Oasis), Andy Dunlop (Travis), Rab Allan (Glasvegas), Josh McClorey (The Strypes) and Andy Bell (RIDE, Oasis). Pete completed his third and new solo album 'Walk To The Light', released on September 28th, 2018. Pete signed a Worldwide distribution and label services deal with Membran Media Group for the new album. The new album 'Walk To The Light' received terrific reviews from press and radio presenters including Gary Crowley (BBC Radio London) and Janice Long (BBC Radio Wales), as well as Pete's loyal fan base Worldwide. Pete has recently announced his biggest headline show to date at one of Glasgow's finest and longstanding music venue's, The Garage for the 7th of December 2019. March 2020 Pete‘s new single FIRING LINE went straight into No.1 in the UK’s official physical single charts. Pete released the single on his own label Stepping Stone Music. A proud moment for Pete and his continuously growing fan base. Read article here > PETE NO.1 SINGLE
